The High Court has found businessman SK Macharia in contempt of court for allegedly breaching orders that barred him from interfering with the management of Directline Assurance Limited.

• SK Macharia was given a final chance to avoid sentencing by apologising and undertaking to obey future court orders.
• The contempt case stems from allegations that Mr Macharia stormed Directline's offices, removed the CEO and board of directors, and installed a new team in defiance of a court directive.
• The dispute involves a three-year fight for control of the underwriter between Mr Macharia and other shareholders.
