Safaricom has announced reduced M-PESA fees for small businesses, impacting services like Pochi la Biashara, Lipa na M-PESA Buy Goods, and Business Till transfers, aiming to boost digital payments and affordability.

• Pochi la Biashara payments are free up to KES 200 for customers for three months (until 31 October 2026), with amounts above KES 2,500 capped at KES 50.
• For Lipa na M-PESA Buy Goods, merchant collections up to KES 500 will now be free, an increase from the previous KES 200 threshold, effective 7 August 2026.
• Business Till transfers to mobile numbers and PayBills will see fees drop by nearly half, with transfers up to KES 100 remaining free, also effective 7 August 2026.
