Kenya's medal hunt begins today at the 21st World Athletics Under-20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon, with both men's and women's 5000m finals concluding day one.

• World Junior Cross Country champion Frankline Kibet and co-captain Nehemiah Kipng’eno are set to compete in the men's 5000m final, aiming to defend the title won by Kenya.
• Other Kenyan athletes competing include 100m sensation Louis Khawel, Marion Chepchumba, and Nancy Jepnghetich in the 800m round 1, and Anatasha Cheptoo and Mercy Chepngeno in the 3000m SC semifinal.
• At the previous championships in 2024, Kenya finished 5th with 7 medals (3 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze).
