The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has appointed Ruth Kulundu as its new acting Chief Executive Officer and Commission Secretary for a period of two months, effective August 5, 2026.

• Ruth Kulundu takes over from Moses Ledama Sunkuli, whose six-month acting tenure concluded on Tuesday, August 4.
• The IEBC is currently recruiting for a substantive CEO and Commission Secretary in preparation for the 2027 General Election.
• Kulundu's appointment aims to ensure the electoral body's operations continue smoothly during this transition period.
