The Nairobi County Assembly has given Governor Johnson Sakaja a 90-day deadline to present a plan for settling outstanding bills totaling Sh81.8 billion.

• Nairobi County has the highest pending bills among all 47 counties, accounting for 53 per cent of the national total.
• The motion was sponsored by Woodley/Kenyatta Golf Course MCA Davidson Ngibuini.
• Verified pending bills will be treated as a first charge on the county budget in subsequent financial years.
