A Kenyan polytechnic graduate has finally received her diploma after a seven-year wait, thanks to intervention from the Office of the Ombudsman.

• The graduate, identified as F.W.K., completed her Diploma in Tourism Management at the Kenya Coast National Polytechnic (KCNP) in 2019.
• The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the Ombudsman) investigated after F.W.K. complained in February 2026 about the prolonged delay.
• The delay was attributed to issues between KCNP and the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), with the diploma ultimately issued in July 2026.
