The value of macadamia nuts produced in Kenya saw a significant surge of 73 percent, reaching Sh8.6 billion in 2025. This substantial increase was primarily driven by strong and stable farm-gate prices throughout the year.
- Farmers produced 53,968.16 tonnes of macadamia nuts valued at Sh8.6 billion in 2025, up from 49,183 tonnes worth Sh4.95 billion in the previous year.
- The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) reported that farm gate prices increased from Sh70-Sh100 at the start of the year to Sh120-Sh150 by the close of the high season.
- Kenya, which produces about 20 percent of the world's macadamia supply, is now targeting India to diversify its export markets beyond the traditional five.
