The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has issued a critical notice to employers, reminding them of their obligation to remit employee loan deductions by the 15th of every month.

• Employers must upload remittance lists through the HELB Employer Portal before making payments.
• This directive aims to strengthen loan recovery efforts, with HELB having introduced a Ksh3,000 monthly penalty for non-compliance.
• HELB is also partnering with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) to enhance recovery from informal sector borrowers.
