An M16 rifle, suspected in four murders across Isiolo and neighboring Meru County, has been recovered in an intelligence-led operation in Isiolo.

• The firearm, loaded with five rounds of 5.56×45mm ammunition, was found in the Kakili area.
• The recovery is linked to bandit Aloise Lochuchu alias “Akoo” and is considered a breakthrough in investigating murders on January 26, 2025, July 20, 2025, December 24, 2025, and February 18, 2026.
• A joint team including police officers, National Police Reservists (NPRs), and National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs) conducted the operation.
