Members of Parliament are advocating for the reservation of slots in Kenya Medical Training Colleges (KMTC) for students from local communities where the institutions are located.

• 61 KMTC campuses across the country have been established with support from the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
• Keiyo North MP Adams Korir highlighted that despite significant NG-CDF investments, local students are struggling to gain admission.
• The National Assembly Education Committee, led by Chairman Julius Melly, will engage the Ministry of Education to explore creating a framework for local quotas, subject to national admission standards.
