A persistent water crisis in Bomet town has inadvertently created a thriving business for water vendors, who are filling the void left by the unreliable services of the Bomet Water and Sanitation Company (Bomwasco).

• Vendors are selling 20-litre jerrycans of water for Sh30.
• Paul Kiprono, an unemployed individual, turned the crisis into a business, now operating multiple vehicles and employing others.
• The town faces increasing demand with the upcoming arrival of 4,000 new students at Bomet University.
