Cameroon has won the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon), securing their first-ever title after a surprising journey to the final.

• Cameroon was granted a spot in the tournament due to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) expanding the competition to 16 teams, and their superior Fifa ranking after failing to qualify through regular qualifiers.
• The Indomitable Lionesses defeated debutants Malawi 3-0 in the final match held in Rabat, Morocco.
• This victory also marks a historic achievement for head coach Valentine Nguele, who becomes the fifth female coach to lead a team to the Wafcon title.
