Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson has formed five multi-agency teams to prepare the city for the anticipated El Niño rains, following the identification of 227 flood hotspots across the county.

• The teams will focus on areas such as infrastructure, emergency response, shelter, security, and communication.
• Governor Sakaja Johnson is leading the proactive preparations involving various county departments and agencies like the Kenya Red Cross and NDMA.
• The county is also implementing a Ksh2.4 billion program to clear drains and strengthen drainage systems, with Ksh2 billion earmarked for 19 flood-prone roads.
