Kenyan social innovator Wawira Njiru has been named the recipient of the German Africa Prize 2026 for her transformative work in school feeding through her non-profit, Food4Education (F4E).

F4E, founded in 2012, now provides meals for over 660,000 children at more than 1,900 schools across Kenya.
Wawira Njiru, Founder and CEO of Food4Education, reimagines school feeding as economic infrastructure, integrating local food production and job creation.
