The historic name Kanyasoro, also known as Ka Nasoor, has finally been officially recognized and incorporated onto maps in Kendu Bay, Homa Bay County.

• The name Kanasoor Ali, derived from an Arab trader Nasir bin Ali who arrived around 1904, has been established as a new sub-location.
• This official recognition acknowledges the town's rich history and the contributions of its Muslim community, represented by Supkem Secretary Nuhu Masoud.
• The new administrative unit, Maguti Mjini Location, is expected to improve access to government services for residents who previously faced challenges.
