A United States-based chapter of the Linda Mwananchi movement has warned Kenya risks a return to the political violence of the 2007-2008 post-election crisis following attacks on journalists and supporters in Homa Bay County on Sunday, August 16.

• The group warned against sliding back to the "patterns of intimidation and political violence" seen previously.
• Attacks included barricaded roads, torched vehicles, and assaults on journalists from multiple media houses.
• 17 people were arrested following the unrest.
