The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is aiming to significantly expand Kenya's voter register to approximately 28.5 million for the 2027 General Election.

The commission targets an increase of over six million voters from the 2022 register of 22.1 million.
IEBC Chairperson Erastus Edung Ethekon emphasized the importance of a clean and accurate voter register.
The IEBC will also double the number of countries where diaspora voting is facilitated, from 12 to 26.
