President William Ruto has announced significant subsidies on maize seeds and fertiliser to support farmers ahead of the October rains, alongside other development initiatives.

A 50kg bag of subsidised fertiliser will now cost Ksh2,000, a reduction of Ksh500, and maize seeds will be halved in price by 50 percent.
The announcements were made by President William Ruto in Taveta Constituency, Taita-Taveta County.
The government has also released Ksh18 billion in third term capitation funds for schools and plans to issue 500,000 title deeds in the Coast region.
