Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has urged retired President Uhuru Kenyatta to refrain from interfering with the current government's affairs and enjoy his retirement.

• Gachagua stated that if Uhuru attempts to assist the current government, they will disagree with him.
• Gachagua also accused the government of creating political parties in the Mt Kenya region to divide votes and of extrajudicial killings.
• Uhuru Kenyatta, speaking separately at a memorial service, rejected claims of political interference and called for peace and unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
