Kenya is intensifying its fight against cybercrime, with a focus on mobile money fraud, which has been implicated in half of reported cases reviewed by authorities between February and July.
- Mobile money was a feature in 51 of 102 computer fraud cases examined by the National Computer and Cybercrimes Coordination Committee (NC4).
- The Ministry of Interior and National Administration (MINA) stated that mobile money fraud constituted the largest single fraud scheme, accounting for 19 cases (18.6%).
