Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi has warned former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua against protecting cartels involved in illegal Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) trade, stating the government crackdown will intensify.

• The Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary assured the public that the government will not be pressured by politicians or businesspeople profiting from illegal gas dealings.
• CS Wandayi cautioned that the "hour of reckoning" is approaching for anyone involved in illegal LPG trade or unauthorized cylinder refilling.
• This comes after Gachagua accused the state of a two-year harassment campaign against small-scale gas dealers, alleging the seizure of over 200,000 cylinders.
