Kenyan journalists are being urged to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to combat election misinformation as the country approaches its next general election.

60 percent of journalists covering the upcoming election will be doing so for the first time.
The Media Council of Kenya (MCK), led by Chairman Maina Muiruri, and the Digital Journalists of Kenya (DJK) association, led by Chairman Andy Kagwa, are spearheading efforts.
Journalists are encouraged to use AI for identifying manipulated content, data analysis, and enhancing fact-checking, while also adhering to a new code of conduct.
