Albert Njeru Obed, the Treasurer General of the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU-K) and Secretary General of the Kenya Union of Domestic, Hotels, Educational Institutions, Hospitals and Allied Workers (KUDHEIHA), has passed away.

• He died on Saturday, August 29, after a short illness.
• The announcement was made by COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli.
• Njeru is remembered as a dedicated trade unionist deeply committed to workers' welfare and dignity.
