Kenya is set to significantly boost its exports to China following a new trade agreement granting duty-free access to approximately 98.2 percent of Kenyan products.

• The agreement opens up the Chinese market to a wide array of Kenyan goods, including avocados, tea, coffee, and cut flowers.
• This initiative is spearheaded by Kenya's Trade Principal Secretary Regina Ombam as an "Early Harvest Agreement."
• The move aims to address the substantial trade imbalance, where Kenya imported goods worth approximately Ksh557.9 billion from China in 2024, while exports were valued at around Ksh25.4 billion.
