Residents of Noonkopir, Kitengela are suffering from the severe dust pollution and economic hardship caused by a neglected Sh1.56 billion road project.

• The neglected Kitengela–Ongata Rongai bypass, used daily by at least 400 trucks, has led to residents relocating and properties losing value due to constant dust.
• Key stakeholders include Kajiado County residents, Kenya Rural Roads Authority (Kerra), and Kenya Urban Roads Authority (Kura).
• The road, last rehabilitated in 2014, has seen its tarmacking stalled for years due to a lack of funding.
