Kenyan consumers face rising milk prices and potential shortages as formal milk supply dropped by 5 percent in June. The Consumers Federation of Kenya (COFEK) is urging the government to intervene.

• The crisis is exacerbated by reduced yields from smallholder farmers due to delayed rains and a 45 percent increase in commercial feed costs.
