The Anzauni Ndene Clan in Kitui is reviving its traditional leadership by installing Dr Augustus Kyalo Muli as Chief Kyalo Muli I on October 3, marking the first such ceremony in over seventy years.

• The installation ceremony will take place beneath a sacred fig tree estimated to be about 70 years old.
• Dr Augustus Kyalo Muli, a humanitarian, educationist, and leader of the National Liberal Party (NLP), is being recognized for his community development initiatives and family heritage within the clan.
• The Anzauni elders emphasize that this chiefdom is a cultural institution focused on preserving heritage and community cohesion, rather than a political office, though Muli's political role adds a contemporary dimension.
