Kenyan consumers are facing milk shortages and price hikes across the country due to dry weather conditions impacting milk production and increased feed costs.

• Milk intake in the formal sector fell by 0.6% to 513.32 million litres in the first half of 2026.
• Popular brands like Brookside, Mt Kenya, New KCC, and Tuzo are missing from shelves, with prices for a 500ml packet rising to Sh75 from Sh60 (a 25% increase).
• New KCC executives are holding crisis meetings with milk producers in Eldoret as drought and high feed prices reduce milk supply in the North Rift region.
