A former Machakos County chief officer has been charged with allegedly using forged academic certificates to secure a senior government position and earn over Sh1.5 million.

• The former official allegedly used a forged Bachelor of Commerce degree and a fake Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Final Examination Certificate.
• The case involves the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Director of Public Prosecutions.
• The accused earned Sh1,585,967.90 during his tenure and was granted Sh1 million cash bail.
