The Meru County Public Service Board is facing judicial scrutiny over the recruitment of 230 Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers. Three unsuccessful applicants have challenged the process, alleging bribery, nepotism, and discrimination.

• The High Court has ordered the County Public Service Board to disclose the names, gender, and origin of shortlisted and successful candidates within 30 days.
• The dispute was filed by Gladys Makena, Diana Ntinyari, and Alice Nyambura, who claim the process lacked fairness and merit.
• The petitioners allege that more than 80 per cent of shortlisted candidates came from one sub-county and that some secured positions through connections or payments of up to Sh400,000.
