The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and the Kenya Bankers Association (KBA) have signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost green financing for climate and biodiversity projects in Kenya.
- The partnership aims to address the financing gap where businesses struggle to fund green projects and lenders cite a lack of bankable opportunities.
- Key organizations involved are GGGI, led by its Africa Strategy and Partnerships Manager and Head of Kenya Office Nagnouma Kone, and the KBA, represented by its Chief Executive Officer Raimond Molenje.
- This collaboration, launched alongside the IKI-funded SYMBIOTIC Project in Nairobi, will focus on making SMEs, especially women-led businesses, more investment-ready and developing suitable financing products for green investments.
