President William Ruto has commissioned a new 109-kilometre electricity transmission line connecting Machakos, Konza, Isinya, and Namanga. This significant infrastructure upgrade aims to bolster the national grid and enhance power supply across several key regions in southern Kenya.

• The 132kV line adds crucial transmission capacity, with sections energized in October 2016 and February 2024.
