The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is launching an operation to capture and relocate approximately 50 'rogue' crocodiles from Lake Baringo due to a surge in attacks on people and livestock.

• Over the past decade, KWS has recorded more than seven deaths and 17 injuries linked to crocodile attacks in the area.
• The operation is led by the KWS Veterinary and Capture Unit, targeting crocodiles in areas with reported attacks, such as Meisori and Kampi ya Samaki.
• Rising water levels of Lake Baringo, which has expanded significantly, are forcing wildlife closer to human settlements, increasing dangerous encounters.
