Ahead of the 2027 General Election, the National Police Service (NPS) has issued new regulations requiring political organisers to notify the police at least three days, but no more than 14 days, before holding rallies or processions.

• Organisers must provide their full names, physical addresses, proposed venue or route, and the date and time of the event, which must be between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
• The NPS stated the rules aim to help police plan security while safeguarding the constitutional rights to peaceful assembly.
• The regulations also address scenarios where multiple events are scheduled for the same time and location, with the NPS warning of action against those involved in violence or disruption of lawful gatherings.
