North Imenti MP Rahim Dawood has reversed his support for controversial development projects within Imenti Forest, citing environmental concerns.

• The projects included a proposed airstrip and State Lodge, initially backed by Mr. Dawood in 2023.
• Mr. Dawood's change of heart followed an NTV investigative report and a petition from Rhino Ark's Christian Lambrechts.
• The Environment and Land Court in Meru had previously suspended construction on July 30 pending a hearing on September 28 and 29, 2026.
