Youth and persons with disabilities in Homa Bay County are set to benefit from a new poultry rearing initiative aimed at tackling unemployment. The project, spearheaded by the Kind Heart Organisation Kenya, has provided essential resources to kickstart the venture.
- 1200 chicks, along with feeds, feeders, and drinkers, have been distributed to three farmer groups: Future Seed, Kawere East Persons with Disabilities, and Buoye Block Poultry Farmers.
- Mark Nyasoro, Executive Director of Kind Heart Organisation Kenya, oversaw the distribution and emphasized the organization's goal of creating direct income avenues and employment.
- The project is supported by donors from Germany, with the Kind Heart Organisation Kenya also constructing modern poultry houses for each group.
