Thousands of small businesses in Kenya will soon benefit from a new government grant program aimed at boosting their capabilities in manufacturing and value addition.

• The Kenya Jobs for Economic Transformation (KJET) program, launching in October, will provide non-repayable grants covering 50% of the cost for shared equipment.
• Deputy President Kithure Kindiki announced the initiative, emphasizing support for entrepreneurs, particularly in rural and underserved communities.
• The program, part of a Ksh19.5 billion initiative, will focus on sectors like dairy, coffee, tea, leather, and edible oils, with grants disbursed in three cohorts through October, November, and January.
