The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has launched a nationwide crackdown on motorists with expired driving licences, vehicle insurance, and other critical documents, commencing the operation in Turkana County on Wednesday, September 10.

• The enforcement drive, conducted jointly with the National Police Service (NPS), targets traffic violations including expired licences, insurance, and defective speed governors.
• Benard Boni, an NTSA official, highlighted defective speed governors and a lack of insurance as significant issues.
• Penalties include fines up to Ksh20,000 or three months imprisonment for expired licences, and fines up to Ksh10,000 for driving without insurance.
