Kenya's Coast is poised for a digital transformation with the planned LuLu Coastal Cable System, a new submarine cable network aiming to boost connectivity and attract technology investments along the coastline.

• The system will feature five landing points along the Indian Ocean, including Mombasa and Lamu, with a planned capacity of up to 60 terabits per second per fibre pair.
• The project is being developed by INDOI Ltd (through its IOX infrastructure business) in partnership with several Kenyan entities.
• The cable system is expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2028, enhancing the appeal of regions like the Vipingo Special Economic Zone to digital investors.
