A succession dispute has erupted in Uganda's Tooro Kingdom following the death of King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the world's youngest reigning monarch, who died at age 34.

• Royal clan elders named TV news presenter Prince Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma, 56, as the new monarch.
• The late king's sister, Princess Ruth Komuntale, claims King Oyo left a 2022 will naming his young, undisclosed son as successor.
• The late king's mother, Queen Best Kemigisa, described the situation as "house arrest" and appealed for a peaceful burial on Saturday.
