Kenyan fintech company WapiPay has partnered with Jamaica’s JN Money Services to enable money transfers between Africa and Jamaica, a move expected to foster closer economic ties.

• The partnership allows WapiPay customers to send money for collection at over 90 JN Money locations or for direct bank deposits in Jamaica.
• Key figures involved include WapiPay co-founders Paul Ndichu and Edward Ndichu, and Kenya’s High Commissioner to Jamaica, Mwenda Karisa.
• The deal, approved by the Bank of Jamaica, aims for a full rollout by December 2026, with a goal of completing cross-border transactions in under 30 seconds.
