The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has initiated extradition proceedings to send a Kenyan fugitive, Sancho Kibutu, back to the United States to face sentencing for a fatal drunk-driving conviction.

Sancho Kibutu is wanted for Gross Vehicular Manslaughter While Intoxicated in the United States.
The extradition request was formally submitted on December 3rd, 2019.
Kibutu was arrested on September 9th, 2026, in Runda, Nairobi County, and has been detained pending further court directions.
