Nyeri County's healthcare infrastructure is receiving a significant upgrade with the expansion of the Mwai Kibaki Referral Hospital. The new Mwai Kibaki Clinical Annex is progressing ahead of schedule, aiming to enhance specialized medical services.

• Construction on the 1,178-square-metre, four-storey facility is approximately 30% complete.
• The expansion is overseen by a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) team.
• The annex will include specialist clinics, a laboratory, and a blood unit, easing pressure on existing facilities and reducing the need for patients to travel for specialized treatments like CT scans and MRIs.
