Renowned American-born consultant cardiologist Dr David Morton Silverstein, who served as former President Daniel arap Moi’s personal physician for over four decades, has died at the age of 82.

• Dr David Morton Silverstein passed away on Sunday morning while receiving medical treatment.
• He had a close, long-standing relationship with former President Daniel arap Moi, beginning in 1977.
• Besides attending to President Moi, he also provided medical care to other prominent figures, including former South African President Nelson Mandela.
