The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), has enhanced emergency preparedness for the upcoming October–December rains, focusing on swift disaster response.

A joint Emergency Medical Team (EMT) preparedness exercise was conducted to test and improve rapid medical response capabilities.
Key organizations involved include the KDF, WHO, Kenya Red Cross (KRC), and the National Youth Service (NYS).
The preparedness push also includes collaboration with local communities in areas like Baringo County, and significant financial support from the World Bank amounting to Ksh51.8 billion (USD400 million).
