The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has uncovered a sophisticated hidden chamber used by suspected illicit traders to manufacture and conceal illicit beverages and tobacco products in the North Rift Valley region.

• A secret underground room was discovered beneath a bathroom floor during a joint operation with Baringo Central Police Station officers.
• The enforcement team seized nine 30-litre jerricans of suspected ethanol, 40 sachets of suspected ethanol, and six kilograms of tobacco, valued at Ksh226,292.
• The suspected trader managed to escape during the raid, and efforts to arrest him are ongoing.
