A new initiative, the South Eastern and Metropolitan Innovation Week (SEMIW), has been launched to empower young innovators in Kenya by bridging the gap between their ideas and viable businesses.

The programme targets Kajiado, Nairobi, Machakos, Makueni and Kitui counties, focusing on inclusive, green, and technology-driven solutions.
Organised by EmpServe Kenya in collaboration with the Association of Countrywide Innovation Hubs (ACIH) and other partners like Konza Technopolis and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
SEMIW aims to connect innovators with institutions, technical expertise, funders, and markets, with a culminating Innovation Summit on November 20.
