Commemorations for the first anniversary of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's passing will feature national events, including the launch of a democracy centre and a leadership academy in his honour.

• The Raila Odinga Regional Leadership Academy at the Kenya School of Government and the Raila Odinga Centre for Democracy at the University of Nairobi are being established.
• Mama Ida Odinga emphasized that these celebrations belong to all Kenyans, transcending political affiliations.
• A national steering committee, chaired by Professor Adams Oloo and including representatives from various sectors, will coordinate the events.
