The Performing Artists and Visual Rights Society of Kenya (PAVRSK) has distributed Sh43.6 million in royalties to 5,911 creatives for the 2025-2026 financial year, marking a significant increase from the previous period.

• The distributed amount represents an increase of Sh19.6 million, or about 82 per cent, compared to the Sh24 million distributed the year before.
• Key figures include PAVRSK chairman Edward Waigwa and Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) chairman Joshua Kutuny, who highlighted ongoing efforts to bring order to the sector.
• The transition to an e-Citizen platform is expected to revolutionize royalty collection, with projections of annual collections reaching Sh3 billion.
