Residents of Mwea can now access a variety of government services locally with the official commissioning of a new Huduma Centre in Ngurubani, Kirinyaga County. The centre, which began operations in July, was inaugurated by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.

• This is the 61st Huduma Centre in Kenya and the second in Kirinyaga County.
• Services include identity documents, birth and death certificates, KRA services, and pension inquiries, along with a Jitume ICT Hub for digital skills training.
• The centre aims to reduce travel time and costs for residents, bringing essential services closer to the grassroots as advocated by Mwea MP Mary Maingi.
